Lets work on mistakes
For the class project we will be working on our mistakes.
Before you start a class I would suggest you taking a still life picture of your choice.
It can be something simple, like a cup of tea and a sandwich, or a vase with flowers.
After you finish this class, go back to your image and examine it, does it have any issues discussed? If it does, chose just one and make a second picture, addressing that problem.
You can make as many pictures as you like, working though different issues.
If you are feeling brave enough you can post both your final image and your initial image, or if you haven’t taken an image before the class, you can find a few of your old pictures where this mistake was made, as I did in my sample project.

Light quality
For more information on how to find good quality house or how to improve it, see my Still Life Photography class where I explain this topic in more detail
But just in case, here are slides that explain diffusers and reflectors
Diffusing light means you block some of the light from window to make light more even. You can use light window shades for that, or a light piece of fabric, as presented below
Not-so-beautiful mess
To remove unwanted bits and pieces use either “Spot removal tool” in Lightroom or “Spot healing brush tool”, “Healing brush tool” or “Clone stamp tool” in Photoshop. If you shoot and edit your pictures on the phone, they are apps that also allow spot removal correction, such as Snapseed
Falling horizon
In Lightroom horizon can be corrected using “Crop tool”, there is an angle slider there
In Photoshop horizon can be also corrected with a use of “Crop tool”
Missing the focus
Here is a link to a page explaining about lens aperture and how it can affect focus and depth of field
This article explains in more detail what single point focus is
Shiny and glass surfaces
To remove unwanted things use either “Spot removal tool” in Lightroom or “Spot healing brush tool”, “Healing brush tool” or “Clone stamp tool” in Photoshop.
