Learn how to create a Dynamic Character with a Strong Presence using Gesture Drawing, one of the fundamentals of Drawing! 

This Class is suited for any level of Drawing, either if you want to up your Character Design skills or to learn some of the basics.

For the Class you’ll need either a Pencil + Piece of Paper or a Drawing Tablet + Drawing Software of your choice!

I’ll be using Manga Studio with my drawing tablet but you’re free to use whatever you feel more used to since the important thing to do here is just practice. Improve your Figure Drawing skills with your favourite tools.

At the end of this class you’ll be able to create more Fluid characters with Dynamic poses while improving your general Figure Drawing and Gesture Drawing skills.

What can you learn from this course?

You’ll be creating your own Dynamic Character!

 

Let’s follow these simple steps:

  • Go to
  • Choose your Settings (I prefer nude models as it’s clearer to find the Line of Action), choose “All the Same Length” and a time that you feel comfortable drawing (works best under 2 mins)
  • Do 5~7 sketches
  • Choose one of the previous Sketches
  • Clean it up as I did in the Video Lesson
  • Congratulations! You’ve improved on your Character Posing, post it on the Class Projects and keep practicing :)

 

Don’t forget to check out other people’s Class Projects and leave some tips and feedback. I’ll be checking the projects out every now and then and leaving feedback, so don’t be shy!
