Professional Swing Dancers
THE iLINDY PHILOSOPHY
Kevin St. Laurent and Jo Hoffberg believe that the old saying “practice makes perfect” can be improved upon by applying a small variation, “perfect practice makes perfect.” If you practice something wrong 1,000 times, you’ll be really good at doing it incorrectly. So take the time you need to practice the material correctly.
The number one thing that all top level dancers share is training.
iLindy will allow you to progress at the speed of your success. However, it is not a replacement for practice. This website is a reference tool of information that can speed up the learning process by providing proven dance techniques and lindy hop moves in an efficient format.
Kevin St. Laurent started dancing at the age of 8 years old with Tap, Ballet and Jazz. In 1993 he started learning Balboa and West Coast Swing. In 1995 he started with Lindy Hop and by 2000 he won the World Lindy Hop Championships in Munich, Germany. In 2001 he went professional and has since taught in over 30 countries across 5 continents.
Jo Hoffberg started dancing in 1998, but since 2007 has spent her life traveling the world spreading jazz culture through vintage partner dancing and has also taught and performed in 30 countries across 5 continents. She teaches vernacular jazz, lindy hop, ladies’ only workshops, runs teacher training in Europe and the States, as well as a performance/choreography weekend. In 2013, she was on the cover of Swing Magasinet om Swingdans, guest starred at Yehoodi broadcast of ILHC, and was inducted into the California Swing Dance Hall of Fame. She is a passionate and avid dancer, instructor and competitor.
