VLOOKUP‘ stands for “Vertical Lookup”, and is one of the most commonly used lookup functions in Microsoft Excel. Use VLookup, when you want to find the details, from a table or a data range, for a given ‘lookup value’. You can use one or more data tables in VLOOKUP. It looks up a value in the leftmost column of a table and returns the corresponding value from one or more columns to the right.

In this course, you will learn about the syntax of VLOOKUP function, the rules that govern building up the argument, the errors that you may encounter while working with VLOOKUP and the best practices for better results. You will learn VLOOKUP usage, from several real-life examples.

There is a class project (with five exercises) that you will leverage to reinforce what you will be learning in this course.

What can you learn from this course?

This class project contains five exercises that will help you to reinforce the learning that you have had so far from the various lessons.

Use the file ‘03-Master VLOOKUP-Class Project.xls’ for the class project.

The exercise tabs are named as EX1, Ex2, etc. These tabs contain the sample data and the instructions to complete the exercise.
