OSPF (Open Shortest Path First) is an interior routing protocol that is widely used by companies, organizations and ISP’s. As being an open standard protocol, it can be used on different vendors including Juniper.
However, OSPF can be hard to be configured correctly in case you do not know how OSPF works. That’s why, I have decided to make this course to explain to you about everything you need to know on OSPF, and to show you how you can configure it correctly on Juniper routers and L3 switches.
In this course, I will pass through the following topics:
•EGP vs IGP – Distance Vector vs Link State Routing Protocols
•Link State theory
•OSPF Hello Packets
•OSPF DR and BDR Election
•Multi-area on OSPF
•OSPF Passive interface
•OSPF Virtual link
•OSPF Route Aggregation
•OSPF Default originate
•OSPF LSA types
•OSPF Stub areas
To follow this course, you need to have access to 4 Juniper routers. It doesn’t matter whether you use virtual or physical Juniper routers, but be sure that you have access to 4 of them.
Finally, if you wish to have a deep knowledge about OSPF and to know how to configure it correctly on Juniper products, I advise you to take this course which will help to achieve that goal.
