Grandmaster, Champion of Ukraine, PhD in Math, FIDE Trainer
Hi, my name is Mykhaylo Oleksiyenko.
I have been playing chess for as long as I remember. I started at four years old and till this day chess deeply fascinates me!
I want to share my love for chess as well as the things that I have learned over the years with anyone ready to listen. Also, I am trying to implement my mathematical/logical/scientific background into chess.
Here are my current accomplishments:
International grandmaster since 2005.
Ph.D. in mathematics since 2012.
Rapid chess champion of Ukraine (2014).
Chess champion of Ukraine (2016)
FIDE Trainer since 2015.
Official commentator of World Team Chess Championship (Ankara, 2013) and FIDE Women’s World Chess Championship Match (Lviv, 2016)
Coach of national teams of the Netherlands (women), Egypt, Trinidad and Tobago, and Ukraine.
I have been teaching chess since 2012. I was privileged to work with the following national teams – Ukraine, Egypt, Trinidad and Tobago, and the Netherlands. There were also quite many GMs, IMs, and a lot of players without any title that I helped on an individual level.
I hope you will enjoy my courses and I look forward to your feedback!
