About the course

Welcome to this class, where you will learn and practice basic watercolor techniques while creating the three bookmarks you can see on the thumbnail.

I will share with you all the steps that go into making each one of them, from preparing the paper to adding the final details. I will also share some tips that have helped me to get to the point I am now as a painter.

In the video lessons, I will show the materials I use, some recommendations on those, and how to get your paper ready. Then, three tutorials will follow, each one showing the painting process of one of the bookmarks.

The first one has an aquatic theme to it, you will learn how to paint sea waves and water in a realistic, yet very simple way. The second one features a watermelon; you will learn how to layer color to get a vibrant result. We will end with a very simple sunset themed bookmark.

All three projects are based on the use of gradients and wet on wet painting, so if you do not master these techniques, don’t worry you are in the right place to learn!

I hope this introduction has woken up the artist you have inside and encouraged you to join in this fantastic adventure that is bringing your ideas to life.

Watercolor illustrator
Hello there, I hope you are ready to learn some fantastic skills!

I’ve been an art passionate since I was a small kid, but it wasn’t till architecture school that I discovered watercolors, and immediately become fascinated by them. I’ve continued using this painting method ever since to express myself, showcase my ideas to clients or just for the sake of creating.

When I paint, I can completely lose the track of time, it’s like a therapy to me, it just makes me happy. I hope we can share this feeling, and of course, the beautiful artwork we will create together.

Let’s start creating, shall we?

With love,

Noelia
